In continuation of paragraph 9 of my

(4) despatch No.844 of 21st November, 1938, in which I

sought your approval of certain resolutions passed

by the Legislative Council on 10th November, 1938,

I have the honour to ask your approval of a further

resolution, of which a copy is enclosed, passed by

the Council on 22nd December, 1938.

This amendment of the schedule to

Ordinance No.11 of 1934 was unintentionally omitted

from the earlier resolution referred to above. It

provides for the reduction of Item 3, Vehicular

Ferry, from $1,915,603.80 to $1,911,450.97.

Expenditure on this work was completed in 1937 and

the lower figure is the final figure of expenditure.

The savings thus realized have been allocated to

other Heads of the Loan Schedule.

this resolution was not sought earlier.
